"You Too Can Dance"

A five week course in East coast Swing. Taught by Nick Diego and Jeannie Tucker, East Coast Swing is a fun, energetic dance that can be danced to much of todays contemporary music, as well as to the big band sounds of yesterday. Grab your dancing shoes and join us Thursday from
7 - 9 pm. For only $5.00 per person, you are sure to have lots of fun, meet new people, and at the end of the five weeks, you will be saying "I Too Can Dance" at the Auburn Public Theater.

  The Auburn Beautification Commission announces

Art Around Auburn - a juried competition for outdoor art.

Based upon the theme “Auburn, History's Hometown”, the Auburn Beautification Commission seeks an interpretive or abstract sculpture that is green (made from recycled materials or materials that can be recycled). Each artist will be evaluated on the adaptation, vision and design of the theme, and how the scale and size fits into the chosen location. The selected artist will have up to five months to complete the sculpture, which will be displayed in downtown Auburn for one year.

Requests For Proposals are available at www.beautifulauburn.org, as well as the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce, Auburn City Hall, Nash’s Art Supply and Auburn Public Theater.

All entries must be received by February 17, 2010, and the winner will be announced on March 3, 2010.

To learn more about the art contest, contact Jessica Harkins at 315- 253-5311, x213, or Jim Kent at 315-255-2432.
